About Us.

In 1981 the agency founder Donald Spiess formed Spiess Insurance Agency after spending several years as a captive agent with various carriers. Thru Donald’s insight, initiative and hard work the agency grew to become one of the larger personal lines agencies in the Brenham Texas and surrounding areas as well as one of the largest producing agencies for the Germania Companies in the State of Texas. After almost 40 years in the insurance industry Donald, seeking retirement, sold the agency to Carl Dahmann on January 1, 2014.

After the purchase the staff was enhanced, additional carriers added, a new location built and upgrades to technology put in place. The agency operates out of a modern office suited to meet its client needs and is located at 310 S Blue Bell in Brenham, Texas with easy access off Blue Bell Road or Alamo Street. As we still operate in a small town environment, technology is still not as important to some of our clients as it is to others and so our new office location hosts a drive up window to drop off payments, pick up proof of insurance, as well as easy access for other insurance related matters. Our lobby welcomes you to drop by and visit with us at any time during our office hours.
